Directions for use

Teat Selection:

  • Use a teat that mimics the natural teat of the mother in both form and size to provide comfort and encourage correct tooth eruption.
  • Growing joeys often need longer teats over time, so upgrading teat length is important during development.

Hole Size:

  • No feeding hole is included in the teat, allowing carers to prepare one suitable for the animal being fed.
  • Carefully pierce the tip with a heated needle to form a hole about 1 mm wide, or cut a larger opening for bigger animals.
  • If the hole is undersized, excessive suction may damage the teat tip and cause splitting.
  • A properly sized hole will allow milk to slowly drip when the bottle is upside down.

Feeding Technique:

  • A syringe with a teat attached can be ideal for feeding smaller animals, as it gives greater control over the flow of milk.
  • Correct feeding methods vary between species, so advice from experienced carers is highly recommended.
Caution

Care & Storage

  • Natural latex can wear down more quickly if exposed to heat or light.
  • Always store teats in a dry environment away from direct sunlight.
  • An airtight and opaque container is recommended for storage.
  • After feeding, wash teats promptly using warm water and mild soap.
  • Allow teats to dry thoroughly before storing.
  • Boiling or infant sterilising solutions may be used for additional sanitising
